What's In Vogue?- Tailored shorts. Would you rock them or Nah?

There has been a noticeable trend in male fashion of recent, basically from spring/summer 2013 collections.

Nah, girls don't run off and be like "this kind of post is not for me" trust me, what our male counterparts wear, we should have a say too and be like "nah babe you cannot wear this" You dig? What shall it profit a female to have a shabbily dressed male buddy/partner/brother?.

So anyway, the tailored shorts and shorts suits look like this;

Instead of normal length trousers and suits, like this

I think people have not really gotten accustomed to this trend, just like how Jim Iyke,a Nigerian actor, came under serious fire, when he wore something similar to an awards event last year, with people saying he looked like "a village headmaster" (not my words please)

But in all honesty, "shorts suits" are actually not bad, in as much as you have the sass and confidence to pull them off. You need to also consider these factors; where you work, what the weather is like, and what or how your legs look like, but like I said, in as much as you feel confident, ride on!
Follow these tips if you decide to rock shorts;shorts suits;
  • It is very important to ensure the shorts fit well/well tailored
  • Shorts should not be creased/rough
  • It should be cut a few inches above the knees
  • Tailored shorts look best when matched with other smart casual pieces such as polos, slim-fit knit wears, oxford shirts, etc. Also "tucking-in" complements this look effortlessly.
You do not have to wear matching pieces to get this look.
Even though the shorts suits look is not totally appropriate for major office settings, you can still mix and match existing separates to give you that informal or casual look for holidaying, and weekends. Just like these pictures project:

Do not rock it like this, Lol

QUICK QUESTION FOR YOU!
Guys would you rock them? and if you wouldn't, I'd love to know why. And ladiessss what are you thoughts on this trend?

  5. Its trendy, and that's what I'm about. But I'll rock this given the perfect time/event and environment. I'm light skinned so trust I'll want to show some skin plus the straight legs *wink*. But rather than the suits (jackets), I'll prefer the shorts with the tops.
