What's In Vogue?- Perspex Accessories in Fashion

Perspex is simply known as "a strongtransparent plastic that is sometimes used instead of glass".

According to the little research I did, perspex is a durable material which is used as an alternative to glass, because of its strength, to make stuff like watches, furnitures, motorboat windscreens, even contact lenses, etc.

Now in fashion, perspex is used to create "cool looking accessories" such as bags/clutches, shoes, clothes etc. The perspex trend was first remarkably noticed at the "Spring 2013 runway show", and since then, it has been incorporated into high street fashion.

These designer perspex accessories sell at really high prices, as high as a million naira, but there are unbranded ones that retail for less than 10,000 naira, depending on your budget.

Here are some pictures of beautiful perspex accessories;

Styling Tips for perspex accessories
  • Less is more: Items in a perspex bag has to be less, as it is transparent anyway.
  • Nails: because perspex accessories are transparent, clean, manicured nails are paramount.
  • It is also important to ensure that items being put inside the clutch/bag are clean since they are basically out in the open.
  • Switch up your style by adding a smaller purse or a "do it yourself" technique, by cutting neatly sized colourful cardboards to fit into the clutch for a change of colour inside.
  • Perspex accessories can be carried with almost anything, you can rock them with colours and patterns.
