Hello everyone, how are you doing? So for this post, i am basically going to use this medium to clarify a lot of stuff about my last post. I got a lot of comments, both good and bad, such as "you wear fairly used stuff *surprise smiley*", "I was disappointed when I read your post", "public image is everything", " you are very confident", " I enjoyed reading your post", "Don't put up posts like that".
One comment even went as far as " I didn't approve of my own time girl of my dreams putting up that sorta crap" and I'm like "Ahn Ahn sho le to yen ni?" (is it as bad as that?). Hehe my yoruba speaking needs polishing; among others. It was a bit, surprising, as the essence of my post was to rightly convey *confidence and realness* and not that I have always worn fairly used stuff or that I WEAR fairly used stuff.
Unfortunately, people will think what they want to, regardless of me clarifying this or not. The essence of blogging for me is a means to sharing thoughts on what I feel, think, being real, as I really do enjoy writing, as a hobby. I rightly stated how I have gotten stuff from the lady 4times, in all honesty, and not stating I WEAR fairly used stuff.
I read a lot of fashion blogs, and while I enjoy reading them, something just never sits right with me. It feels like every of these blogs, are basically all about *high end stuff, priciest of stuff, designer labels and what not" and in my mind It's like "what happens to people who cannot afford these stuff at the moment? Or what about people like me who still live on a budget, but would definitely get to that point where we can afford these stuff".
It should be balanced. Truth is a LOT of people wear fairly used stuff, but this does not make them less of a human being than people who never wear them (society should not make anybody conform to its rules of dressing stylishly) but the fact that I was able to actually say this loud and clear, should NOT be a basis for judgement.
People would still act like they don't even fart, or poop, to be honest. We all have to learn to be open minded, and while "realness" is a virtue, unfortunately it is not appreciated. So rather than keep feeling like I have to wear so many expensive stuff before I look good at this point, I am like why not personally share with people stuff I have worn, that I did not have to break the bank for?. So in all justifications, I thought I should be able to confidently state when and however I have worn stuff like that, without necessarily caring how people would judge me or look at me differently. Like my mum rightly said " people, as much as they claim to love realness, would rather stick with fake people". She's also like "Maybe you should have used the word *vintage* instead of *fairly used as fairly used carries a certain type of stigma* (Thanks Mum).
My last post still would NOT deter me from being real, but has of course taught me how to put up posts with clear definitions. My blogging would serve as a means to showing people you can be who you want to be, of me growing fashion wise, and most importantly eclectic styling.
I am super grateful for comments I have been receiving, kind words and constructive criticisms are most certainly welcome. Thanks guys :*
Thanks to Yemi Ogunbiyi by the way. God bless you.
