The Duro Olowu Spring 2021 RTW Collection gets its inspiration from acclaimed African American painter Emma Amos, who died in May of this year.
The painter who had a radical feminist agenda and challenged racial stereotypes, understood that activism was part of purpose as a creative. Her trademark poetic use of color can be envisioned throughout Duro Olowu's new collection. The designer used them to particularly flatter effect on an elongated tunic over chic wide-leg pants.
The designer has also been experimenting with new skirt shapes, and the saronglike midi-length silhouettes can be seen in this collection.
