The Harmattan season, a popular West African climate, is dry, dusty and somewhat cold, and as a result, our hair needs some extra TLC, because it can become uneasy to maintain its moisture.
Here are some tips on how to maintain your hair during the season:
Tip 01: Spray Bottle
Get a spray bottle, mix your leave in (as recommended), water and little coconut/olive oil. Spray from time to time to re-moisturize your hair.
Tip 02: Brushing style
Always comb or brush your hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. We also strongly recommend the use of a de-tangling brush.
Tip 03: Before Bedtime
Just before going to bed, brush your hair and pack it neatly.
Keep on your satin bonnet or scarf to prevent moisture loss while asleep.
Tip 04: Do unto your hair as you do unto your extension
Just as you give some TLC to that glamorous weave and abide by all the tips, ensure that your own hair isn't left out of the treat.
Wash and condition as required.
For wig lovers, it is very easy to ignore your own hair and give all the attention to that glamorous weave, but remember that as you do this, you deprive your own hair of nutrients which will in turn hinder hair growth.
Happy Hair Treating!
